CONSULTATION PAPER

PROVISON OF SECONDARY SCHOOLING IN GREATER SHEPPARTON:

Secondary schooling in Greater Shepparton is being reviewed as part of the DEECD plan for schools to work more closely together to provide greater access to pathways, attain better student outcomes and make better use of resources. This is a chance to make things better for all students in the Greater Shepparton area and we need to work together to shape the future.

Nothing is decided yet but some guiding principles and three possible models have been created so far. These three models are for consultation only at his stage and we would like you to discuss these and suggest any other models, alterations or additions that you see could benefit our students.

Guiding Principles:

  1. Sharing of innovative and engaging teaching and learning practice
  2. Clear and equitable access to pathways for all students to provide the greatest range of options
  3. Schools, families, communities work together to educate and support our young people to achieve their individual potential
  4. Provide and promote a safe and supportive learning environment
  5. Shared accountability for student learning outcomes, pathways and well-being
  6. Strategic use of resources
